What I find most difficult with designing my own web site is not knowing what I want to do. I know that I have said this before but it is true. I am still having trouble with all this. I am a little bit closer to knowing what I want to do but I am still not 100% sure.
In the past I have done something like the best web design. Well I decided to do something different. The worst web design. I went into Google and typed in worst web design and here is what came up. This link is like the first link I think.

So with the semester winding down it seems like there is so much to do yet. My biggest problem right now is trying to figure out what i want to do for my portfolio website. I know I have said something about this before but I still do not know for sure what i am going to do. I have an idea but i am not set on that idea. You would think that when a teacher tells you that you can do anything that you want to on your final site you would find it easy but for me it is really hard. I know i should be so much farther that what I am on this project but I can’t figure out what I want to do.
In my web design class we are building our own portfolio website. We are building this in Adobe Dreamweaver. I do not quite understand it. I was looking for a good website or something to help me with this. This site is from adobe.com. All I did to get to this site was a google search, and this was the first link on the page. So in my Web class we have to design our own portfolio websites. I am having a really hard time with this and i do not know why. One thing i have noticed all through out school when you have a project with certain things you have to do you have so many great ideas and you can get started right away. But when a teacher lets you do whatever you want to do you can’t think of any thing and its the hardest project of your life. I am having a hard time because I do not know what to do. I want to do something simple but not have it look to simple. Over the semester we have learned so many cool things that we could do but from all those things I still do not know what to do.

A week ago today I attended a lecture and we talked about some really cool stuff. Like 3D printing and how to make your own design into a fabric or put it on a mug also laser cutting. There were two things that i found very interesting. First was the 3D printing. I don’t know a lot about it yet because i just found out about it but it looks really cool. He was telling us some of the things it can print. We were talking about some like an iPhone case and many more. I think that it would be really cool to have this type of printer in my house. Second was the laser printing. You could make all different kinds of things with this. He showed us an video in class and on the video they made a flat puzzle of a dinosaur. Which when you put it together it becomes a 3D puzzle. In this video it showed what other things this person has made. He made a box, a truck, and many other things. But all the things that this person made you had to put together like a 3D puzzle. I think with the combination of these two things it might change how you design things. Because with these two things available you can design anything and have it printed on either of these printers.

This past few weeks at my school we have had an art exhibition going on called Collider 4. It is all about how you can interact with art. There is this one exhibition that you can create your own type family by using your hands and the xbox kinect. All you do is have the kinect know that you are there and then start drawling the letter with your hands until you get the one you like and then save it. Then you have your very own type family. It is very cool. I would live to see more things like this in the future.
Future of fashion? 3-D printer produces stylish shoes
A company called 3D Systems is getting ready to release an at-home 3D printer that will enable people to design and print products from prosthetic legs to hearing aids to, yes, even high-heeled platforms.But I want it now.
So this week in my Web and Devices class we are supposed to look at other portfolio web sites of other people to start getting an idea of what we want our to look like. So I went to Google and searched for just that. It gave this website of a school in Texas. This website has all or some links to their students portfolio website. I have not looked at all of them yet but this is the coolest one that I have found so far. There are some good things to it then there are some parts of the website I do not like at all. So I went on google and typed in how to create a website. The first thing that was listed was a website on how to do this. This website took you step by step. I watched the 5 simple steps that they had a first time user do. Yes they were all simple but they never showed how to do it with any code what so ever. But they did say that how they were doing this was by not using code. They used wordpress. So that got me thinking. If this is you first time making a website and you really want to make it your own how can you do that in wordpress. I do not know a lot about wordpress. But what I have read and heard about wordpress is that you can use a templet to make it your own. But to me I think if you really want to make it your own you should use code. But code is not easy to just pick up. It does take some practice and need to know some of the code right off the top up your head to know what you want to do. I also want to say that this website did have useful information on how to get a domain name and a good place to host your website.
